The Quantitative Aptitude section is where most students either shine or struggle. At Shortcut Maths, we teach calculation shortcuts that help you solve DI questions 50% faster than conventional methods.

Priority Order for Preparation

  1. Data Interpretation (40% weightage): This is the most important topic. Practice at least 2 sets daily.
  2. Arithmetic Word Problems (35% weightage): Focus on Percentage, Profit-Loss, SI-CI, Time-Work, and TSD first.
  3. Simplification & Number Series (15% weightage): These are scoring if you practice daily.
  4. Quadratic Equations & Data Sufficiency (10% weightage): Easy marks once concept is clear.
Shortcut Maths Tip: Memorize multiplication tables up to 30, squares up to 50, cubes up to 20, and percentage-fraction conversions (1/2=50%, 1/3=33.33%, 1/6=16.66%, 1/7=14.28%, 1/8=12.5%, 1/9=11.11%). This will reduce your calculation time by 40%.

Reasoning Ability Strategy

Reasoning is the most scoring section in IBPS PO if you have practiced enough puzzles. The key is to develop a systematic approach.

3-Step Approach to Solve Puzzles

  1. Read & Note: Read all conditions carefully. Make a rough diagram/table immediately.
  2. Fixed Information First: Place all direct/positive clues before attempting negative clues.
  3. Cross-Verify: After completing, verify every condition to ensure no contradictions.

Target: Solve 3-4 puzzles daily. Start with easy ones and gradually move to moderate and difficult levels.

English Language Strategy

For Bengali medium students in Kolkata, English can be challenging. But with our specialized approach at Shortcut Maths, even students with weak English backgrounds have cleared IBPS PO.

  • Learn 15 new words with synonyms/antonyms (15 min)
  • Grammar rules revision - one topic daily (20 min)
