Percentage Short Tricks

32% of 25 = 25% of 32 = 8 (much easier!)

If a number increases by a% then decreases by b%, net change = a - b - (a*b)/100

Example: +20% then -20% = 20 - 20 - (400/100) = -4%

If a dealer sells at CP but uses false weight, Gain% = (Error/(True Value - Error))*100

If two articles sold at same price, one at x% profit and other at x% loss, Net Loss% = x^2/100

SI = (PRT)/100. If P = 100, SI for 1 year at R% = R.

CI for 2 years at R% = 2R + R^2/100

CI for 3 years at R% = 3R + 3R^2/100 + R^3/10000

If a/b = c/d, then (a+b)/(a-b) = (c+d)/(c-d)

If a:b = b:c, then c = b^2/a

If same distance at x kmph and y kmph, Average speed = 2xy/(x+y)

Same direction: x-y. Opposite direction: x+y.

If A does work in 10 days, B in 15 days. LCM = 30. A=3 units/day, B=2 units/day. Together = 5 units/day. Time = 30/5 = 6 days.

If m1 men do w1 work in d1 days, m2 men do w2 work in d2 days: m1d1/w1 = m2d2/w2

By 11: (Sum of odd place digits) - (Sum of even place digits) = 0 or divisible by 11
